She applied to attend nursing school in London and was told that she could get her training in London or the United States. She chose the United States. She moved in with a friend in New York and started her college training. Along the way she fell in love and was married. She completed her training when her husband was transferred to Colorado.

In 1950 they built a home in the Crestmore area of Denver that cost them $18,000.00. Here they entertained soldiers that were on leave from military bases and had no where to go. They had two sons and unfortunately, her husband passed away suddenly and she then raised the boys on her own.

Now at 93, Kathleen has outlived all of her investments. She is doing well but has been struggling financially. A recent appraisal on her home valued it at $690,000.00! So as opposed to possibly having to leave this cherished home, she opted for a reverse mortgage to solve her financial problems.

Thanks to a reverse mortgage, Denver residents and Kathleen can stay in the homes that they love, the places where so many memories reside. Kathleen now has the cash to pay her bills and also to have a caregiver assist her with her daily needs. She’s a happy camper and no longer has to stress over her finances. Both of her boys live out-of-town and just love the idea of being able to visit and stay in the home where they were raised.
